How to Pick up Girls at Work

It's natural and even normal to have a crush on your coworkers because you spend so much time around them. If you are interested in flirting with a girl and pursuing her, then be friendly and within boundaries at your workplace.

Here are ten friendly tips to help you pick up girls at work. It can be your workplace, or her work place like a store or restaurant.

1. Keeping Things Friendly

You can meet her at casual social events. Places where you feel at ease talking to your co-worker. You should also consider places where she would be comfortable talking to you.

If you don't want to be rudely rejected, create an environment that allows natural conversation to flow. Your workplace has many great places to chat with your female colleagues. They might even go to these locations with you if you like them.

Always assess the situation before you approach a girl. Respect her space if she seems in a rush or seems emotionally unavailable.

As much as we hate being harassed by charity collectors and street sellers, observational awareness can be very important. Don't be surprised to get your face palmed if someone interrupts you in a panic.

2. Work is a great way to break the ice

You can add a joke to your work email or send her a funny photo via webchat. You can make a light hearted joke about the meeting that you attended earlier in the day.

Both of you have at least one thing in your common: work. It can be used to spark a conversation. Avoid gossiping about your co-workers. Be positive and not negative. Avoid making inappropriate jokes. Keep it light and friendly.

3. Offer to assist her with work projects

Offer to help her if she is assigned a large project or must stay late. Ask her if you can help her or if she has any questions. It's a friendly gesture, but it also shows that you are interested in spending extra time with her.

You can bring her up to date with notes or a quick call if she is absent from a meeting. You'll not only be helping her, but you will also show her your interest in her. Speak to her like this: "I noticed that you were out yesterday, so I took down some notes during our meeting for you." This will let her know that you are aware of when she isn't around.

Offer to take her out to lunch on a working day. A quick lunch break is one way to spend time together, but with less pressure. You can ask her to take a quick bite outside, or just sit down next to her in the breakroom while she eats.

Lunch is a great way to meet up, have a chat, and get to know your co-worker. You can make things a lot more casual and relaxed by taking her somewhere other than work.

4. Be your genuine self

To impress a girl, don't pretend you are someone else. Women can sense if a fake is being presented to them. Be your best self. Self-assurance is beautiful.

Being inauthentic always backfires. Inauthenticity is always a problem. You will have to admit that you are going to be dating the girl you dream of and she is your perfect match.

5. Don't use closed-off body language

This will make a girl anxious, and cause her to want to stop the conversation. Do not be like a deer caught up in the headlights.

Talking to the ground and crossing your arms is not a good idea. Talking to women is supposed be fun! You can make her feel happy by sharing your positive emotions. She will also enjoy the moment.

Smile, open your body, and face the woman when you are talking. Voice tonality can also be important. Do not rap your words. Speak up to get her attention and don't mumble.

It is also a great way to improve your tone. There should be no monotonous chat-up lines. You can practice your highs, lows and accentuating words as if you are telling a story.

6. Do not fear rejection

It's still the man's responsibility to make the first move in dating.

You have to pull the trigger whether you are meeting a girl, or going in for a kiss. As a man, it's your responsibility. It is your duty to be brave and willing to sacrifice for women. You can expect to be disqualified from time to another. It's part of the territory.

How you deal with rejection will determine your success in attracting women. You'll eventually become less afraid of rejection if you learn from your mistakes, bounce back, and continue practicing.

These are the core concepts. Let's now give you a step by step breakdown of how to pick up a girl. Let's start with the basics and then move on to how you exchange numbers.

7. Avoid physical gestures in the workplace

It is possible for coworkers to report you to a supervisor. Physical gestures such as touching can make her feel uncomfortable, which could be the opposite of what she wants.

Even if you are flirting, keep it professional. It's possible to flirt with her without touching her. Eye contact, smiles and glances can be just as effective than touching, but they don't have to come with the risk of being too forward or acting inappropriately. It might be a compliment to her work ethic. Give her praise for a recent project that went well.

To be safe, keep things lightened and more on her prude side. Do not make sexual comments or mention anything that might offend her. These comments can lead to harassment suits and complaints against you with the human resources.

8. Ask her to meet you after work

Find something that her co-workers are interested in so she doesn't feel like you're judging her. This won't make it seem like you're trying to be too strong. Once you have gone out with a group, it is possible to suggest that you go out alone.

You should make the occasion casual when you invite her out for a one -on-one conversation. You invite her like you're going and ask her to come along. You will feel less intimidated, and it will be less formal than a date. You could say something like "I was going out to my favorite bar after work today for one or two drinks. Would you like to join us??

9. Look for something that you share other than work

It's easy to fall back on work when you are flirting with someone you work alongside. Ask her what she enjoys doing outside of work. This will show her that you care about her as more than a co-worker. It'll also help you to get to know her better.

You might be working in an office that has cubicles or desks. Take a look at the woman's and check out what kind of knick-knacks they have. These may also give you clues to her interests and can be used as conversation starters.

10. Learn about the workplace romance policies at your job

You might find that some companies have very strict rules about co-workers fraternizing. You could be fired if you violate these rules.

These policies may not be applicable if co-workers are at different levels. It might be illegal for a supervisor or manager to pursue his subordinates. Sometimes, no policies are in place for workplace romance.
